At 7 in the evening, the temple nitya puja began culminating in the Sodasa puja for Lord Murugan, Agathiyar, Arunagirinathar and Sri Math Pamban Swamigal.
After the puja Lord Murugan, Agathiyar, Arunagirinathar and Sri Math Pamban Swamigal were ferried around the temple on a "chariot".
